Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 12-8-32, Brantley County acknowledges receipt of two petitions on Friday, August 14, 2020, for initiation of the Facility Issues Negotiation Process. Per that statute, the County validated said petitions on August 28, 2020, and confirmed that the petitioners include more than 25 “affected persons,” at least 20 of whom are registered voters of or landowners in Brantley County.
Accordingly, the Facility Issues Negotiation Process is hereby initiated. In accordance with the rules, the petitioners shall select up to ten members, eight of whom should be registered voters or landowners in Brantley County to serve on a citizens’ facility issues committee to represent them in the negotiation process. The membership of the committee shall be chosen within 15 days of August 28, 2020 (no later than September 12, 2020). The County and said the committee will choose a facilitator and will coordinate with Brantley County Development Partners to select a date for the first meeting within 30 days of August 28, 2020 (by September 27, 2020).
